Yeah, read the news when it came out. This sucks :| I kind of like the idea though, to get rid of these domain squatters and parking shizz.

Now companies will be able to squad TLDs and charge what they want for people to register domains under those TLDs with them being the sole registrar for it.

Ugh, what a nightmare this is going to be. So much for current email and url validation, I'm pretty sure they are allowing more than 4 characters in these >.<. BTW, I think I'll try to snatch .abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz. Then I can give email address that are super long: me@abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz.abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz :D. Wonder if those harvesters have enough space in their email fields to store an address this length...

Just imagine the increase in parked domains, cybersquatting, and the likes there will be. Everyone will scramble to get the coolest, most original name (and a lot of them try to flip them for a profit).

There are already TLDs with more than 4 letters (museum, travel).
