I'd like to delete the thing but can't figure it out. I'm logged in, I click on my post, but there are no editing tools available.

Can anyone tell me how I edit my post?? Thanks! :o

I think there's a separate forum category on down the list where this would fit better. That being said, on my posts, I have an edit button to the left of the quote buttons. If you don't see it, and you're logged in, there may be a new member restriction in place.

If you are referring to your post of 26th May, then the time when editing is permitted is over. In fact the "Edit" button disappears after three days. Perhaps WA or a mod could explain why this is so.

Thanks. It's not on mine, but the reason for that might be explained in the second reply to this...

Sorry for jumping in on the wrong category, too - will try to be more observant next time around.

That's as good an explanation as any - I'll take it! Strange that a person can't go back and delete a post, tho, or even edit it, could be any number of reasons to make this tool available. Oh, well, someone knows better than me.

Thanks for the response!

There is a time limit on when you're able to go back and edit or delete a post. Afterwards, you'll need to pm one of the mods or I to do it. The reason for this is to prevent a member from wrecking havoc, by going back to deleting or emptying all their posts for whatever reason.

Not to hijack the thread (although it's pretty much answered anyway), shouldn't there be a limit on when you can remove thanks as well?

As WA pointed many people were going back to their thread after getting their questions answered and deleting the thread. So we removed the ability for users to delete their own threads. Then people started going back and editing their original post instead and emptying it since they couldn't delete the thread. So we removed the ability to edit the post after a few days.
