Hi guys :)
I would like to know if a trick exists that would make it possible to have a swf file clickable via <a></a> tags surrounding it.
Thus, I wouldn't have to set the link inside the fla files which is quite a hassle.
Any idea?
Thanks!

No I think not. When the mouse or the focus is on the Flash movie, the browser doesn't have any control over what happens. So you have to put the linking inside the FLA. The browser simply cannot detect if you click on a Flash movie, basically it is out of its jurisdiction.
Thats not 100% true, the jurisdiction thing, for your purposes its right, your browser does have some slight influence on the behavior of flash files for example some sites like myspace can make it so external URLs aren't loaded into the flash movie.
I may be wrong but that's what i;ve read\experienced
If you want i could put the URL in the fla its fairly easy, just send the image *or animated gif\swif* your using and dimensions you want (or fit whatever you send me)
best of luck :)

Your browser can only limit a few settings on Flash. You have to use Javascript if you want to get Flash to communicate with the browser directly.

Why is it a hassle? you can set a variable containing the destination URL and pass them into flash when embedding. That why you would set the .swf once and change the link from HTML very easily.
