Opening JS files error

I downloaded a menu from http://www.dynamicdrive.com, but when I open the zip file and then try to open the custom.js using notepad to customize the menu I get a runtime error that says 'exlude' is undefined. Please help

What menu? What ZIP file? Did you actually open it with Notepad?
