I have a potential project but I am trying to gauge how hard this would be for a flash developer to produce. Client wants functionality very similar to this site (page turning):

Thanks for any feedback.

Not hard these days, even have some programs out there to make it. I can't seem to get your link working, that page is very poorly designed IMO. Google turned up plenty of results and tutorials quickly.

Not a flash guru :)
You might want to check this free flash page flip (http://www.flashpageflip.com/demos/free/)

Thanks for the responses. I had a flash dev tell me that all 3 of those examples were in AS2, and that AS3 is what the initial example I posted is in. Anyone have any AS3 examples / templates handy?
He said AS3 is like 10 times faster and is able to process larger images smoothly vs. AS2.....

Sorry had no idea it was AS3, doesn't show or tell us in anyway. The version of AS is invisible unless you decompile the Flash file.
Its supposed to be better, but you'll be harder pressed to find good AS3 stuff since people haven't totally jumped on the bandwagon yet to upgrade - its a major change from AS2 so people are slower to take it up, including myself.

I don't know how he could tell either - I guess he just thought with such a large image and a such a smooth transition that it had to be AS3 - he said AS2 wouldn't look that smooth with such a large image....

I decompiled it, its AS2.
I'm fairly new at flash, and i'm pretty into AS3, so if you get a fiew flash extensions like tweego and courina tweener, it shouldn't be hard at all, all ya gotta do is take it step by step and you'll get it eventually. Look through a few more flash sites and ask yourself how they make those animations, google some terms, and do it yourself. also that websites transitions aren't what i would call graceful, just remember transition is a good part of the website in quality terms.
Good luck man ;)
