The differences are huge - ASP.NET is completely object oriented, like C++ for instance.

Although ASP.NET supports ASP for backwards compatibility, they don't have very much in common, since classic ASP is only a scripting language.

It will help a lot more when I really have time to sit down with it - I understand the concepts but have not had the time it requires to actually USE it day-to-day. ;)

P.S. This might come as a surprise, but here's a pretty good resource:

here you can find the framework (http://www.msdn.microsoft.com/downloads/default.asp?url=/downloads/sample.asp?url=/msdn-files/027/000/976/msdncompositedoc.xml)

here a free microsoft tool (so seldom !) web Matrix (http://www.asp.net/webmatrix/default.aspx?tabindex=4&tabid=46)
