.cod isn't a video.
Its a java file that is used to create programs for Blackberry phones.
Are you sure about the other one?

I didn't give you any software. It appears that 7.avi is just an avi file. Nowhere in there does it have a .cod or .vedioclip extension. You will need to isntall some codecs to play them in Windows Media Player. I suggest the k-lite codec pack found here: http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Codec_Pack.htm

Aside from the fact this is not a web design question, I feel compelled to answer.
To play a music CD, doesn't Windows Media Player recognize it and just play as a CD? You have to rip a music CD, just use iTunes or CDex, there are tons of music rippers out there. Whatever codec the video was saved as is required, so if your player can't find the codec, find a new player and more codecs. You can probably look at the file properties to see what the codec is.

Well where did you get the disc? Ask them.
Right click and click Properties, and under Advanced you can see the codecs.
