Hey, I am looking for some Windows Vista Based website templates (with Aurora effects). I cannot find any on the net (unless I am entering wrong keywords). They may use Joomla.
I am NOT and repeat NOT paying ANYTHING.

No offence, but they are a bit ugly.

Then do it yourself. In all honesty, I don't think you should be trying to rip off an OS's native theme.
& I thought Vista used Aero?

What is the point of a web page if it looks like the OS?

Trying to trick users into believing that it is actually a Windows program...hmmm? I would never use a design that looks like an OS. The only people I know who do it are those who make spam/viruses. Not that you are, but people who try to mimic certain things like Google or Windows appearances are often running a scam or malicious activity.

By the way, designs that work well for a OS don't usually fit well for the web. They are completely different in their design needs.

Free stuff is fine, but always remember someone made it originally and someday you should consider giving or paying for some scripts...

No, thats not right. Take for example this site: http://www.thesimsnews.com/ thats something like it. With the avatars and hover effects etc..

Can't say that I like such direct emulation of the OS on a website. Web design is our chance to break free from those confines! I'm more concerned about how visitors can be confused when they see something that says "MSN" in their mind, but says "SIMS NEWS" on the site. I would very much like to run some usability tests to find out if OS themed sites trip users up more often or not.
