Do you know a great web host, where you can host your own domain and have unlimited MySQL space, too?

www.freehostia.com is super cheap. http://www.freehostia.com/free_hosting.html. I doubt that anywhere you will find unlimited mySQL, but freehostia has 1 free db included in the plan. I don't know anywhere with free domains though. A few sites claim to have free domains but you have to sign up to their site for $5/month, or the free domain is just a "trial offer". Freehostia is great value though, no doubt about it.

You can get unlimited MySQL at webhostingpad, and everything else is unlimited.

Here's the link: http://www.webhostingpad.com/1144.html

Sorry, I didn't remember that when I was writing, I only referred to his question.

binaryWeapon, I already have a domain, I just want to host it..

And yeah, I know Freehostia, but the 10 MB of MySQL is not quite as much as I need.. :S

This host doesn't have unlimited mysql but it has enough resources for any site. It is http://www.vlexo.com. I am administrator of it and IMO it is the overall best free web host.

If you want good hosting then you have to spend some money to get quality hosting like from BlueHost or WebHostingPad.

Free means you'll get what you pay for.

1849WebHosting has fast servers and is low cost - they have very robust shared and VPS hosting plans.

Can I clear this up: You can't get a .com/ .co.uk ect.. domains, unlimited databases ect.. for free.
Pay those pennies. No matter how hard you will look, you shall find none.

Most are just 'pay nothing until we decide you must pay'.

I don't mean to be rude, but how can you possibly expect a web service to provide you with unlimited resources (even if it's just MySQL space) on servers that THEY pay for, using bandwidth/data transfer that THEY pay for, absolutely free? I know you want something for nothing, but try to get over that and pay a reasonable price for a reasonable product. You can find shared web hosting for dirty cheap these days - in many cases, less than $20 a year.

And BTW, there is no such thing as unlimited.

Hmm

Welcome to the first and only - user donations supported free web hosting service.
I wonder if this is something that will work out for them, considering their users don't want to pay for hosting? I guess if they get a community of people who like it and offer up money.

It still stands that this host is very unlikely to offer you a reliable service if they are donation based.

Besides, I don't know what you need this site for, but I don't think its wise or fair to expect everything is free. I use a fair amount of open source software, but I help provide support or develop with them. I would think that you should try to offer some kind of help back, that is how this whole system works.

And your domain is still going to cost you, they will just add it to your account for free.

NO No NO No NO!!!

Never use freehostia, you will hardly see your site online, their servers are always overloaded.. i have a couple of sites on there and im constantly mailing them to ask why it`s down.
They give you a load of bull**** about clear your cookies (WTF!! ) and cache everytime..

This hosting is completley unreliable, and wouldn`t bother. Their payed hosting is well over priced and they do not have the fastest server times,m as they claim..

Stay well away from these..

you can get free mysql and even cpannel on the site where my web site is hosted. Though they do limit you to 5 databases, think you can sign up for more than one account.

I have been using this for months already and I must say I haven't experienced any problem. It has a great uptime, just like a paid hosting, of course will be down when their server reboots but that's okay because it only takes a couple of minutes. :) This is one of the best free hosting I had.

Another great free webhosting I had is Ceege.net. It is a forum-based webhosting, meaning you have to acquire points for your hosting and specific points to upgrade the things you need. The community is great too, try it also if you want. They have great uptime and speed. :) I hope this helps.

I have been running my website in free webhosting since March and I haven't experienced any problem even though my site reaches more than 10,000 page views a day. So trust these two free host sites I gave, they have been proven. :D
