Setting the Exact time for a Flash Movie to Play

Hi

I'm fairly new to Flash (and I really don't know actionscript), so I hope this isn't too stupid a question, but I've searched and I can't find the answer.

I have built a Flash movie that runs for about 30 seconds. There are a few transitions and I need it for a presentation project. I would like the movie to take 2 hours to run from the beginning to the end (i.e. 2 hours in total - really slowly ;) ). What would be the best way to get this done?

Also, are there any issue or tips that I should think about when a Flash movie runs this slowly?

If you are not too worried about specific transitions happening at exact times, then you could just have the movie looping continuously.

But perhaps I didn't explain this very well.

What I want is, instead of the movie running for 30 seconds, I want one loop of the movie to last for 2 hours.

OK, got you.

In CS3 you can slow the frame rate to decimal places. (not sure about other versions)

You will have to work it out as follows:

newfps[fps] = ( (currentfps[fps] * currenttime[secs]) / newtime[secs])

If you are currently running at 12fps (the default) and the clips lasts 30 secs I work it out at 0.05fps for the new value.

Just had another thought.

The above could be quite jerky every time the timeline moves from one frame to the next.

You could extend the number of frames to make the movie last 2 hours. This would make the action much smoother but could be more involved to do.
