I'm not sure if I understand the problem:

1) Are you trying to save the slices so you can use them in Fireworks?

or

2) Are you trying to save the slices in Freworks and then use them in Photoshop?

Also, what version of Fireworks & Photoshop do you have?

Where in the world does Photoshop come into play when you create a website design in Fireworks? Fireworks is all you need. Photoshop isnít as half as good as Fireworks to design websites. What are you trying to do?

If you save your files in Fireworks PNG format itíll kepp all the layers and slices and stuff (obviously not in Photoshop but as I said you donít need that at all).

Hmmm - I'll be very careful when I read your advice from now on ;)

Sorry, I donít get itÖ
OK, Iím a Fireworks enthusiast but really, itís just way more flexible than Photoshop. And Iíve written it before but Iíll repeat it as much as you want: Thereís a reason why Photoshop is called Photoshop: Itís mainly a photo retouching tool. Sure, you can do some design stuff but I donít know why itís being abused so widely for graphic design when there are programs that make the same tasks a lot easier, quicker, more flexibleÖ Adobeís programs were invented for specific purposes: Illustrator is for vector based design (actual graphic design), InDesign for print media design, Photoshop for photo retouching and design. Of course actually these programs are for professionals and I guess Illustrator is/was just too much for amateurs (in price and functionality).

Fireworks is a tool that combines/d the most widely used features of Illustrator and Photoshop where Adobe users used to switch between the two to get the same results (before Macromedia was bought by Adobe).

I think it was just the more intensive marketing that made Photoshop so popular while Fireworks is still (wrongly) underrated.
Any protest? Donít bother, Iíll ignore it anyway. :D

A debate would be pointless and not really necessary. I respect that you prefer Fireworks over Photoshop.

I use both (I use Photoshop much more frequently) but don't have such strong feelings.

No. A computer program cannot produce semantic code so far. Even the decision whether to create a two column layout with floats or positioning would be too much for an automatic process. Tables are just the easiest way to produce a quick result because of their rectangular nature. If you slice images automatically it can just export the slices as they are. The program couldnít even decide what should be a background image, etc.

Thatís why we web developers wonít be unemployed in near future.

thanks for that info . I don't know i am correct or not . But i treid Adobe Imageready.
i made slices in that. In there it asked me to save in CSS or tables . I saved the file and everything was in CSS , there was no table in the html document.

Did anyone tried that before
