trouble starting apache at home!

i installed mySQL and Apache but cannot start the service?! I stopped IIS on my computer and tested ports etc;

why doesn't it work??!?

I am running windows XP SP 2

What does this have to do with PHP? Either way, check your apache error log. It should be in C:/Program Files/Apache Group/logs/apache.log (or httpd.log)

thanks, I looked at the error logs and there is none recorded as of today's date just 3 months ago when i tried to install it so yeah I try and start the service and it says "The requested operation has failed!"

wild guess, do you have skype running? shut it down before starting apache.
