I think you can consider 22" screen as well .For watching movies long screen is good but for computer applications i find screen more than 22" uncomfortable . Its individual opinion.

I have samsung 22" (WS)screen at home and BENQ 19(WS) " at office , But i find 19" more suitable for programming and computer stuff .

You don't want to see how many windows I try and work with when I'm doing programming and photoshop

for that case you can use 2 monitors with one CPU,
In home i have two monitors , 22" and other 17 inch , both hooked to same CPU
For PS getting 30" won't solve problem either

so your destop will be doubled , when u move ur mouse from one edge of monitor it will get inside the other monitor

There is a top end to how much a bigger monitor benefits you at which the productivity starts falling. It's somewhere around 23", but I'm not entirely sure.

PS: sexy monitor =P

I checked the acer monitors , they are not very good ,
Acer

Contrast Ratio: 800:1

Response Time: 5 ms

Maximum Resolution: 1680 x 1050

Samsung 226BW

MagicSpeed™ ultra-fast 2 ms (G to G) response time

3000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio

chk it here

You are comparing apples and oranges there unless you qualify what the first set of specs are referring to. The response time from white to black is different from gray to gray. And a dynamic contrast ratio cannot be compared to a static ratio. On LCDs the suits in marketing like to only list either the static or dynamic ratio, whichever one is higher. To actually compare to monitors you need to look at each ones static contrast ratio since that will make more of a difference than the dynamic.

Usually dynamic contrast ratio is aboout 4 times higher than true contrast .
I have manually seen acer monitors they are not as good as samsung. Hp monitors are also very good but usually person can see his reflection on screen. but its good if person can see the local stores before bying any thing like that. things on internet always appear good

While I can't speak the accuracy of that claim; dynamic contrast works completely different than the static/normal contrast and isn't always desired. I was just pointing out that you can't just compare unqualified specs when it comes to monitors.

You can read up on it, there are few good articles on it. Wikipedia is also a good starting place: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dynamic_contrast_ratio#Dynamic_contrast_ratio
