I have added this code in my CSS file. I want to display my form's text field with a white background. I have two text fields on the same page but one is displayed in white, while the other is in yellow (in FF).

what gives?

input[type=text], textarea { background-color: #ffffff; }

You don’t happen to have Google Toolbar installed, do you? Or any auto-form filler?

Same with me, mabeys you have an autofil in disguise!!

BTW, autofil yellow boxes work with IE and IE only. So I'm guessing JCDevelopment has FireFox ;)

See the screen shot,
No need to worry much, 100% of the end users tested so far have got white boxes. :)

Hope you don't have a cached stylesheet having a specific rule for one of the element, otherwise just clear cache and refresh.

input[type=text], textarea { background-color: #ffffff; }To see if this issue is caused by an extension or plug‐in, I would try viewing the document in safe mode where theyíre all disabled. You can do this by going to Start: All Programs: Mozilla Firefox: Mozilla Firefox (Safe Mode) in Windows XP. If the field ends up being white, then it would appear that this is your issue.

To see what extensions you have installed, you can go to Tools: Add‐ons: Extensions (tab) from the Firefox main menu. To see what plug‐ins you have installed, you can go to the URI about:plugins via the address bar. Figure out which of these might be causing the issue and try uninstalling or reconfiguring them.

You can also try forcing a hard refresh of the page by navigating to the page and pressing Ctrl+F5. A hard refresh makes it so that the refresh ignores the cache and re‐downloads all resources attached to the current document; itís a convenient alternative if you donít want to clear your entire cache.

I just turned off the option, remember what I enter in forms and the search bar.Thatís a native Firefox option that has nothing to do with the auto‐fill issue related to the Google Toolbar and other auto‐fill utilities.
