hi ,

Although this topic is similar to the another thread in the forum but its somewhat different .

i want to know which antivirus should be used when my computer is already infected with virus . When this happens i have seen almost no AV which helps. Virus or spyware does not allow the AV or anti spyware to completely remove the virus and when next time computer restarts virus again gets loaded.

The best way to remove them is AV which can be used in dos mode or at boot. So which are thos AV which have ability to scan from Boot

One more thing usually AV dont scan for spywares so which Anti-spyware can be used from boot or dos mode

It depends on the virus. I've tried AntiVir before. It works well and its free. However if you can tell us the name of the virus there is likely a better way to make sure you get rid of it. The reason it might be coming back is because system restore might be enabled or the files it was using were still in use. Try running a scan in safemode. Avast Home which is also good can scan from boot (dos mode).

I am infected with ZLOB infections , it continuously pops up window with other saying that i am infected with somw worm 32 virus . I then searched internet and compared the symptoms and found that it was actually ZLOB .

tried several techniques but could not delete it.

When i boot my computer in safe mode . Is it possible to run anti virus scan from there.
i thought all softwares are disables it safe mode

The first thing viruses or spyware does is they delete the all restore points.
Is it possible to save restore points on CD

Remove all current anti-virus, download kaspersky 30 day trial & spybot S&D, install then reboot into safemode & do a scan (you need to start kaspersky manually in safe mode)

Before rebooting after scans Kaspersky and Spybot, disable System Restore (will lose all restore points) clear all the %TEMP% files and the windows prefetch and dllcache folders and reboot.
