Live Price Changes :S

Ok peoples,

My super question today is...

How do you code something like on http://www.telebids.com, where the price changes live without any page change?

I'm looking at making a site that involves this type of coding.

I would guess it's AXAJ ...
Combination of PHP and Javascripting.

Either have an AJAX request checking the price every few seconds, or implement reverse AJAX (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reverse_Ajax) (which can be quite hard but is the most realistic).
