hi friends ,

I want to know how much time it should normally take to build this sort of website . I think i am taking too much time and want to improve

This is a temple website

1) Design home page layout
2) users can register
3)user can book temple during the on any date
4) some static pages like policy , history , contatc
5)Weekly annoucements

and admin page to manually override evrything including group mail

I will be very thankful if someone can suggest the tools which can help making this easier or ready made scripts or libraries

Depends how many developers are working on this project. Is it just yourself?

Also it depends on how much code you have from previous projects, such as log in scripts, admin pages, etc. Once you have coded it once then all it takes is some changes for other applications.

Usually ready made scripts and libraries are not the answer because its hard to separate what you want and don't want.

Every website will have different tables , so i don't understand he can we reuse components.

e,g in login scripts , there is only one functio

checkLogin (username , passowrds)

and even that is also few lines of code , if had to code again.

How can we reuse admin page , every website has different requirements , different tables. how can we resue admin scripts .

I agree few javascript codes can be reused but i am not sure with php

Only if you choose to make it too different. As an example, you could reuse your code that handles user registration and authentication usually pretty easily, even more so if you set everything up really nicely. Just make the users table on the new site you are reusing it have at least the same columns such as username, password and email; most sites would anyways.

If the two sites need additional different columns, that doesn't matter to your authentication code. You would just need to tweak your registration form handler to take in the extra data.

I think few components can be reused but still chnages have to be made. For example if you have to build this site and you have initial codes . How much approx time you will take to complete it

For me? If the page layout was already designed in a graphics program like Photoshop: I could probably layout the HTML & CSS and get a site with those features working in about a week assuming I worked full time on it. My main focus hasn't been on web dev in a while so I don't know more precisely how long it would take me to do it.

And to develop the code I would probably do the bulk of the work in vim. Or gvim when I'm on my Windows computer.
