It's not finished (the search doesn't work)
But just my general layout and code. :)

You kinda need to give us a link.

Serious question: what does it do? It looks like a front to Google, and you've got to be careful messing with them.
It does not validate. There isn't that much code, but 45 Errors?
You are using some code like <font> tags which are bad news. Use CSS!
I just no idea what its for, which makes me believe its probably just a duplicate of the Google homepage using your site.

Its based on google but does it look like it?
I remember google at the beginning when they had much less on their (home) page.
Your page looks just the same but as if it has just a different stylesheet. I think it true to say that if it smells like google and it tastes like google and perhaps, if it works like google, it must be google and they'll come after you for copying them.
I think the biggest copycat thing is the 'I'm feeling lucky' button and the 'vivaloo it'.
Instead of thinking 'I can copy them but do it better', think, 'I shall build something to compete with them' and then; think a bit more. They are suitably positioned, to see what you are doing and are able to
1. beat you to it
2. shut you down.
I would see them 'buying you out' only if you have something that they need and which is cheaper for them to buy than to build themsleves. And then we get into the whole issue of IP (intellectual property) which they can't copy, (without remuneration).

Ok, in my Notepad, I've changed the buttons but I don't think it looks like google :S
and I thought IP was internet protocol??!
IP means more than one thing:
maybe others too.
Intellectual property is extremely valuable for companies and they protect it with a vengeance.

Alternating Colors I'm Feeling Language Slogan of
on Letters Lucky button tools link "<search name> it"
Vivaloo X X X X
You're right, definitely nothing like Google
You should strive on offering something different than the other search engines rather than copying.

Also, you are hosting this on freewebs...? Which means you will be utilizing Google for the actual search?
I'm still confused why you are even doing this?

Im not hosting on Freewebs ;)
Im using my own site that uses PHP and MySql. That was just to show you ;)

How much stuff have you indexed so far for your search engine?

I don't see how this will compete with Google. It is very similar, they have vastly more resources, more experience, and they are an established corporation. What would make people want to switch? What's different? What's going to draw traffic to your site that would normally use Google?

1. I have not indexed anything
Im not trying to compete with Google. This is mearly for fun, if people wish to switch to Vivaloo - fine!
