Hello everybody!
I am installed Red Hat Linux on separate drive. I did it just to see how it looks like. But now I want get rid of it.
Windows OS I have is 2000.
My question is if I'll format disk with Linux, am I gonna get OS selection during boot? Because that information written on IDE 0 with W2K.
Thank you for your time.
fdisk /mbr
removes the boot loader.

Well technically that recreates your Master Boot Record. :)

I like to think it magically tells Linux that LILO needs to die, and be replaced with the Windows loader, but whatever :p.

Actually what fdisk /mbr does is use the backup copy of your mbr (located at the end of the active partition) to recreate the master boot record and restore it... ;)
'Tis great for removing mbr/boot virii like the Linux LILO... :P (Pike is gonna ream me for that one... hehehehehe... ;) ) I WUB U PIKE :D

I wish I had known to do recreate the mbr a long time ago when I had my system dual booted with linux on one HD and windows98 on another. The lilo was on the main HD with windows. The HD with linux died so I took it out and didn't remove lilo from the main mbr. When I tried to boot up I got nothing but 1's and 0's and other odd characters scrolling down my screen. I had no idea what was going on so I got another HD and loaded it up and got my system back up and running only to find out that it was lilo making the HD go crazy when it couldn't find linux on the other HD that was now gone.
