Help with structure of tables

Hello! I would like to know how to make two tables touch so that two background pictures touch, without gap.
On (www.sacred-egypt.com) I would like the bar "welcome to our home page" which is a bg picture, to touch the banner that is over it...
Also when I open the page in explorer, the search boxes in the menu on the left are not centered anymore, unlike on firefox.
