Just wondering and it may not be worth anyones time but, are there anyplans in the future to add a forum that consists of questions for Adobe Flex(mxml) and or Adobe Air? My company is deciding to move towards cross platform/browser applications. I will be part of the project to move it into an internet based program and might need assistants...

You mean assistance? Forums are usually added based on demand. If there were a lot of threads talking about Flex and you asked WA, he would probably make one. I can't speak for him though, so this is just my opinion/experience.
Yep it really all depends on whether there's a demand for a new category, based on the number of questions popping up on existing categories on them.

There's a huge Flex following and CF should follow the trend and open up this kind of forum. You've got my vote.
Anyone care to give me the quick low down on Flex, and also, how it is different or similar from the other Adobe offerings like Adobe Air or Flash? I'm trying to understand if Flex warrants a forum category of its own, or should be part of a category that encompasses other subjects.

AIR is the desktop version of Flex. Flex is browser-based, and is deployed using Flash. It definitely warrants its own category because it's a completely different IDE than that of Flash. It's component-based, so it doesn't fit well with Flash's timeline-based animation theme. The software is free for students/teachers: http://www.flexregistration.com/

what bout making new subforum on
"Working in IE not in FF or Vice versa"

Flex doesn't have anything to do with specific browsers, so it should just get its own forum next to Flash or a subforum of Flash/AS. Maybe Flash and Flex should be a subforum of AS?

Yeah, my company is moving toward browser applications so that anyone can access them. Thats why flex is so great, its crossbrowser and very user friendly.

Flex - Rich Internet Application Framework. One of those things I'm going to learn the next day I have free (probably a year at this rate). Honestly there should just be a new forum for AS3 and Flex, because they are so integrated. Most of the questions are about AS2, but some people don't know how different they are and get so confused. Flex still relies on Flash...so I don't think it makes sense to remove the connection. Flex provides a new method of developing Flash applications, AIR is for the desktop with same basic principles.
I feel like the potential problem with rearranging the forum is what to do with the current posts. We have to think about the existing threads in Flash, which are mostly AS2, but some mixed with Flex and AS3. I doubt WA wants to hand sort through and move them. What about just leave Flash as is, but make two subforums: Actionscript 1&2, Actionscript 3&Flex? Because it makes sense that there is a Flash part, for general questions and things about the program, and then the two sub-forums for the scripting languages. If someone knows something about AS3, they probably know something about Flex, but knowing something about AS2 doesn't mean squat to Flex.

Just checking in on this discussion, and wondering about a forum about CMS systems as well? There seem to be growing number of questions spread over random places in the forums, but usually they don't fit.

wondering about a forum about CMS systems
Totally agree with you, 100%. I usually dont know where to post them because some involve PHP, MySql, HTML and general building. =D

As said in the other thread: Post them in the respective CMS support forum.
