Getting rid of linked image borders

Hi,
I am trying to get rid of the 'link borders' around images on my site. I used to do this by adding the attribute "border=0" into the IMG tag, but I've heard that's depreciated in HTML4. I'm not an expert with CSS, so I was just wondering what the proper way to do this is now. Is it just like a 'style=none' attribute or something? Thanks for your help.
