Excel+conditional formatting+row+ question

In excel I can do conditional formatting can i apply it to a whole row. So that if the value of the data of column B in that row was say Female the Whole row would go Pink.

also can i apply conditional formatting to a cell based on a value in another Cell? Is it Possible? How?

use a formula in your condition (first dropdown in the conditional format dialog) which checks the value of another cell, compares it
