Hi all,

The code below works great for FireFox and Safari but not for Internet Explorer 6. In IE6 movie.swf is not displayed.
What do I have to change to make it work in IE6??

Thanks in advance!

<OBJECT ID='Flash' WIDTH='250' HEIGHT='188' CLASSID='CLSID:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000'
STANDBY='Por favor, espere...' TYPE='application/x-shockwave-flash'>
<PARAM NAME='FileName' VALUE='movie.swf'>
<PARAM name='ShowControls' VALUE='false'>
<param name='ShowStatusBar' value='false'>
<param name='loop' value='false'>
<PARAM name='ShowDisplay' VALUE='false'>
<PARAM name='autostart' VALUE='true'>
<EMBED TYPE='application/x-shockwave-flash' SRC='movie.swf' NAME='Flash'
WIDTH='250' HEIGHT='188' ShowControls='0' ShowStatusBar='0' ShowDisplay='0' loop='0' autostart='1'> </EMBED>
</OBJECT>

Don't know if this is the correct method. But this works.

<EMBED TYPE='application/x-shockwave-flash' SRC='movie.swf' NAME='Flash'
WIDTH='250' HEIGHT='188' ShowControls='0' ShowStatusBar='0' ShowDisplay='0' loop='0' autostart='1'> </EMBED>

No, no! Please don’t! Look into SWFobject (http://blog.deconcept.com/swfobject/) for a proper, cross-browser, and standards compliant way to embed Flash objects.

No, its just that the problems that arise from that method (while it works in most cases) cause the page to have lots of potential issues, from standard compliance problems to that annoying IE Click to activate feature, and other issues with it. I'm pretty sure its also depreciated, meaning that in future versions of W3C standards (the guidelines by which HTML runs) it won't be available.

Plus the SWFObject will display the flash the best way depending on several variables. I highly recommend it, no wait, I make it almost a requirement.
