hi

i am developing a website. payments are setup to go through paypal. i have a pricing page for my products.

my products are priced in australian dollars at the moment, but i would like to accept payments from across the world.

whats the best way to do this? ideally i would like to show the price in the local culture currency. but this means complexity for currency conversions etc. any advice appreciated. thanks.

Find out from your host statistics where the majority of your visitors come from. If they're mainly from the United States, convert your prices to approximately their price. If they're mainly from the United Kingdom, convert your prices to approximately their price. If both, list both. I wouldn't go through the trouble of converting everyone's. Or, you could list a link to a currency converter site for those wishing to purchase your products but who don't pay with Australian dollars. I hope I helped!

I would list in US Dollars, everyone knows the value of the US dollar when compared to their home currency without looking it up. But very few know cross currencies such as Australian Dollar/Canadian Dollar , Australian Dollar/British Pound etc.

I posted a PHP script that gets currencies quotes in real time from yahoo finance. You could use the script to take the Australian Dollar prices and convert them any currency you like in real time.
