All i want is to play movies in good conditions and to not spend extra for something i don't really need

Still not enough information. What kind of connection are you looking for? Where are the movies going to be played from? Your computer, a dvd player? Will the monitor act as a TV AND your computer monitor? How big were you looking to go?

I didn't know that i can connect a computer monitor to a dvd player, however, i'd prefer a tv set for this. It's only for playing the movies from my computer.

I am going to suggest you go with a Samsung. They are incredible monitors, look excellent, and usually have MIB's at newegg.

There are many more with different features available, but that one has a very good contrast ratio and a 2ms response time.
