ok, anytime when somebody don't like something digg for some reason that "that thing harm you". why?
is simple because nobody don't want to be harm.
because xml and xhtml have very regular stucture, looking to your tag editor could harm you.
Now the only thing we must do is to find someone to militate against xml and xhtml, and this sound easy. Not same thing could be say about other markups like html.
In my opinion the only thing that can harm people is abuse.
mobile, rude behave of people, disfunctional design in many cases but I don't thing that harm, maybe annoy.
statistics is a sience, seems very simple but is not and interpretation of data is very messy and subjective.

I guess that if you compute the frecvency of words in this replay you could find that the subject of the thread is about markup language, :)

best regards

It seems like every year someone comes out with a study that says something like this, and then every other year another study comes out that disproves it! Until the WHO comes out with a statement that says cell phones are an issue I doubt anyone is going to stop using them.

I mean, this day and age most kids don't have watches to check the time, they use their phone.

the actual context of the article could cause a little commotion with the "tech of the stoneage" people.

wait those things people walk around talking into give off "radiation"??? that "radiation" could cause "cancer"??? "cancer" in "brains"??? well, if i had a "brain" i wouldn't want "cancer" in it. especially not "cancer" from "radiation"!!! we must act! we must ban these things!!

i just can't wait for the day that it turns out that people that ban things that cause cancer in fact cause cancer themselves by banning the so called "dangerous" things that could be used to prevent, and or treat a serious illness such as cancer.

more interestingly, in the mid 90's a study was done into the recent spike in the number of incidences of detected cancer. being noted that the medical technology used to detect and treat cancer had recently undergone many improvements allowing more cases to be accurately diagnosed, or previously undiagnosable cases to be diagnosed, thus the report drifted lazily off into oblivion as "well, of course there are more cases, because we can tell if there were more than we though there were before now". the contents of the report are this: exposure to the wood and fiber preservatives commonly used in the manufacture of furnature over the course of long term exposure cause cancer. this is mind blowing, absolutely mind blowing. people that smoke choose to, i'm a smoker & cancer is a risk i take and am entitled to do so (control over our own death seems to be the only control we have in life). people who talk on mobile phones take the risk of getting brain cancer, it's been talked about before, probably on a mobile phone too, people are aware. anything we do in life has an associated risk. and the over-zealous do-gooders of the world have chosen to ban (or abridge the freedom to do) the things that could be harmful but we enjoy (i'm predicting that mobile-free areas, that aren't related to x-rays working right or planes not crashing, are coming within the next few decades). however, to attempt to make the things that are necessary in modern life not kill us by using them to their intended end.... well, as long as the good we did in banning all those things that people like that cause cancer, we certainly can't get it ;)
