I am having trouble locating a .wmp file that I don't remember the name of. I just cannot configure the search facility on Vista. With XP I just put that it includes .wmp and it worked a charm. This new "Improved" search engine reminds me of Terminal Five.
The sort of "Improvements" that we can very well do without.
With over 500 Gig to search, I need assistance.

Any help gratefully received.:D

I'm sorry, I have nothing useful to add to this topic at the moment (I don't use Vista, although I have family members that do. When I get home, I'll check with them.), but I have to say, this line was one of the better ones I've seen here recently:

^Ahh... Brings back memories... "I wonder just how much RAM we can put in this Mac Plus?"

Click start (Vista Orb), then hit Search. Click the down arrow next to advanced search. Type in part of the filename you are looking for in the Name box, change the location to look in Computer. Hit Search.

Thanks Aero.

I couldn't locate it. It must have fouled up.

You could try downloading Google Desktop and waiting for a long time while it indexes your drive...

I looked for that file on my system Vista Business and I don't have a file like that at all.
