Hi,

I currently have a 'GeForce 4 MX 440 8X 64MB/DDR/Tv-Out' graphics card and i need to replace mine so that i can connect it to my LCD Tv which takes DVI. I only use my computer for simeple tasks and not games so i am not relying on any power just so that i can use my normal monitor via VGA and connect my tv by DVi so that when i am watching movies i can watch it on my TV.

Is this graphics card what i am looking for and is it just something that i can easily swap out and replace?

Any help would be appreciated,
thanks in advance

No that card probably wont work for you. Its a PCI-E and your card is probably AGP, its pretty old - chances are your motherboard doesn't have PCI-Express slots.

this (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-095-OK&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=411) is a little more expensive but it should be compatible with your motherboard (assuming it has AGP)

If you have a GF4, you almost certainly have AGP, I'm pretty sure they didn't ever make a PCI-E version of it.

They actually did, surprisingly enough. But on further research the MX440-8X was definately AGP 8.

^Yeah, I had one... (edit: The AGP version, that is... Or was it straight PCI?) Many years ago.

I'd show a recommendation, but naturally, the all-important web filter here at class won't let me do that. *rolls eyes*

Right now, I'm trying to remember if that card had two VGA ports... If it does, you can just get a DVI adapter, so you wouldn't need a new card.

In any case, if at all possible, taking a picture of your current motherboard so we can see what slots you have available would help a bunch.
