View Full Version : Creating text input for clients

This isn't a necessity, but I have been looking into creating a text input for a client that can be filled out easily and then styled to fit into a news page. Essentially I was looking to create a backdoor for the client that will automatically style and organize their news posts onto their website without them having to either poke around in the code or e-mail me and ask me to add it into the website. Perhaps there are premade templates for this? If not what language would be sufficient for this idea? Even if I don't do this on my current project, I'd like to learn how for the future. Can anyone suggest a good way to make this happen? thanks!

Use PHP, and make a basic CMS system which would allow you to have a person fill out a text input form, and submit it to a site's database for display.

There are a bunch of CMS out there, but if you want to learn it start with learning some PHP and see some of these tutorials (http://www.google.com/search?q=php+cms+tutorial&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a).

Great, I will look into PHP. This is exactly what I needed: just a place to get started. If I have more specific questions I'll return and ask them. Thanks again!
