Creating Tabs in Illustrator CS3

Hey all,

Im going to go ahead and say i am not much of a designer, i am developer! So here is the problem, i am trying my hand at creating a tabbed look for a page. The only problem is that its not looking to good. I dont know what im doing wrong, so i was wondering if anyone had a good site that has turtorials on creating tabs. Believe me i have googled it, but nothing comes up thats any good, just sites on creating buttons.. thats not hard i just want something that shows me an easy way to create a tab layout.

What’s the difference between a button and a tab except that tabs are usually more than one item and next to each other with the bottom cut off?
