Everytime that I start a program, the screen comes up small. It is beginning to irritate me and I would like to persuade the PC to start maximised every time.:D

See my last post.

I don't have my copy of Vista on me, but this is how you do it in XP:

Right-click on the shortcut
Press "Properties"
Go to the "Shortcut" tab
Click on the "Run" drop-down
Choose "Maximized"
Click OKAnd it should start maximized for you =)

Thanks CyanLight,
but it only works for actual programs and not for shortcuts to web addresses. Typically Microsoft in fact. I know it's a small thing, but it gets irritating sometimes.
I would have given up long ago, but once or twice I have accidentally done something which worked. I just don't know what it was.

Press on regardless. Nil desperandum and all that sort of thing.

What type of shortcuts are you trying to open fullscreen?

Aero,
I have several shortcuts to web addresses. They always open minimised and as my minimised is quite small, it is a nuisance and I have to maximise them everytime. Program shotcute are OK. I have tried in vain to alter the minimised size and keep it as a new default, but nothing works. It doesn't even last for one session. Googling has not helped. What I need is a means to reset the 'minimum' default.

Using IE7.0.6000.16609

I THINK I'VE CRACKED IT; AT LEAST FOR ME.

Resize and then refresh the window. This seems to save the size for the future.
Microsoft say that you cannot re-size the window from either the maximum or the minimum. Only from the default.

Thanks for this tips. I have tried it in my XP and it works. I think it is much easier to follow your step by step guide.

It doesn't work for web shortcuts.
The option to maximise doesn't exist.
