Can anyone tell me if it is possible to reclaim my Linux partition that I have set up (20GB i think) and amalgamate that in with my 35GB Windows partition?

I am no longer using my Linux partition, so it really is wasted Hard Disk space.

Windows: MS Windows XP Home SP2
Linux: Fedora Core 5.

I don't think Windows will see the linux partition. Have you tried going to the computer management area?

Click Start > Run > Type compmgmt.msc > Click on Disk Management under storage. It should lists all of the visible partitions. If your linux partition isn't visible then you can use a linux live cd to format the partition to whatever you like. Hiren's Boot CD might work for you as well. A good live cd for formatting and partitioning is http://gparted-livecd.tuxfamily.org/

I guess Partition Magic is the solution, is for windows because I presume you don't feel confortable with linux tools.
Be carefull what ever you use and make a backup first, resizing partition could go wrong.

in the Computer Management I have:

1. my hard drive (C:) at 39.06 GB NTFS
2. a 102MB Healthy (Unknown Partition) that I would only imagine to be my swap partition (??)
3. and a 35.67GB Healthy partition (E:)

Number 3 gives the the option to right-click and format.....is this recommended? I don't want to affect the C: drive if possible. If I have to have two drives then that's not a probelm either, bringing them together I can do without.

I personally use GParted, a free tool for Linux which is avalible readily on the Ubuntu Live CD and can be downloaded for other distributions.
