View Full Version : Good Background Images Are Hard to Find

I'm a part-time web developer who hasn't had much need for background images in the past, instead relying on solid colors or gradients for most of my work. I don't have much graphics experience but am usually pretty good at picking things up.

Rather than attempt to create something with questionable appeal though, I was wondering if there was a good resource for quality background images. I'm looking for something very dark gray, with some texture or intermittent patterns that is classy and understated.

After about two hours of perusing the disappointing offerings on the web I thought I'd see if you guys had any input on where to look or how to go about resolving this quandary.

Thanks in advance for any input.

I've been trying to find this site for about a year now. I never bookmarked it and lost it. It may have what you are looking for: http://www.squidfingers.com/patterns/

has real nice patterns. the live preview is nice too.

A good bit of them remind me of squidfingers backgrounds, but still some nice ones.

Thank you both very much. I did come across SquidFingers in my previous sleuthing. They definitely seem to have the best-quality backgrounds but none suited my purposes. Anyway, I think I've found something that will work. Cheers.

EDIT: Also, thanks harbingerOTV. Those are a some great sites that I'd not previously found.
