Look into Google Analytics. Also make sure your content is changing daily.

Here's one of your biggest mistakes:

<title>Home</title>

Make your title descriptive and concise.
"Home" is not a good title.

This would be much better:

<title>Jamie West Web Design - Development - Coding - PHP Scripting - Blog</title>

Thanks to you both I will change the titles, also look into Google Analytics.

You should also use your keywords in the page, for instance if you want your name to be a huge keyword put it in a <h1> tag for the title, even if you style it to look different. Get links to your site on other peoples site, and with those links try to use your keywords in the link. ie <a>Jamie West.com</a> instead of <a>My Website</a>.

Your links on the PHP page don't link properly, they still keep the subdomain of php.jamiewest.org.uk.

Your site isn't valid either, but you can easily fix that. It would also help your ranking.

it was 100&#37; valid till i added Google code :( i know about the php i was thinking of the best way to get that working with relative URLS on the way home

I've already told you NOT to use XHTML1.1 if you don't know how to use it properly. The iframe doesn't exist in XHTML1.1.

iframe?

My bad. I remember their adsense using iframes before. You can easily adjust the code for the form. Either way I still don't think you should be using XHTML1.1 as you have no idea how to pass the proper headers.

what do you recommend html 4.01?

_Aerospace_Eng_

Well the target attribute isn't valid in any strict doctype. XHTML 1.0 or HTML 4.01 would be okay.

I was getting over 100 errors after changing doc-type
i checked the tidy html option it gave me this validating code... what do you think?
also what is the c data it added?

You should probably search for stuff on cdata. Its a common thing in XHTML and there are many places that explain it on the net.

also what is the c data it added?

is used to avoid using &amp; &lt;, &gt;, &apos; &quot; instead of &, <. >, ', "
most frecvent inside of script element

best regards
