I found this php thumbnail generator on Hot Scripts, and I was wondering how to alter it to set a maximum height instead of maximum width for each image?
Any gurus out there that can help me on this?

Dated 2002 ... that also looks very old.
Do you need to resize images already in a directory,
or are you resizing them as they are uploaded?
Also, is it just .jpg? (specify the image type).
I think there might be an easier way.

It's for an entertainment website. Actually, two. On one of the sites, I have up to four different size versions of the same image, and to date have been making them manually in Photoshop, and storing them in each artist's main directory folder (so only that artist's images are in the folder - not all images are stored together - easier to keep track of that way).
I thought there must be a script out there that would allow me to upload just the largest size .jpg I'll be using, and in the HTML I can tell it to "put this image here at this size, and here at this size, and here at that size". The script I attached here will do the job for one of the sites, but the other one needs me to have control of the image height rather than the width.
So I don't want to make a whole batch of thumbnails using a typical generator, and then upload them - I want the HTML to do it on the fly each time the artist's page is opened, then I only have to upload one photo.
There's an easier way to do this?
