I this all the stuff I need to build my pc?

Ok, thanks to you guys sort of indirectly I have got on to reading a lot of material and in the last week or two have learnt sooo much about hardware.. (in comparison to several weeks before)

Now my question is, is all this stuff everything I need to build my computer.. (obviously this is just the basics I plan on more than this)?

Case
PSU
Motheboard
Processor
Ram
Hard drive
IDE Cable(s)
Cd-Rom
Floppy drive
Monitor
Speakers
Keyboard
Mouse


With everything in that list I should be able to build a computer that will run? Because that is all I have cataloged for my new computer which I will be buying/assembling in May (Yay!)...???

Also I'm guessing that a serial ATA connection differs to the IDE cable?

Ok, I knew that I didn't list the OS.. but what the heck is a flux capacitor?

I mean it sort paints a picture in my head, but that is only because I know a small portion of the english language. :)

Remember one of thems cables that go to the back of the power supply, I've never got one with psu... well maybe once or twice but generaly they're not supplied.


You also need thermal compound or a plan (ie either use the thermal pad already on the supplied heatsink or remove it, trying both doesn't work, I've tried...)

And yes, serial ata is diffrent than standard ide. serial ata is supposed to replace conventional ide soon. Thats why you see it on mobos now days.
