http://i21.tinypic.com/5cc2uc.jpg.png works too. What you both are missing is that the extension doesn't determine the type of file. The server is sending the file headers, which tell the browser it's a GIF image. ;)

File extensions are almost worthless. Make a .txt document, and rename it to whatever you want, open it with a text editor and it will still show you your original .txt document contents. It's the same with images. It's just a renamed .gif.

and yes, you can rename the filetype to anything.
and here is the code you will get if you rename it as a .txt

Ahahahaha! It took me a while to work this out so either you're quite clever or fell for the same trick I did.
It is a JPEG, and it's a still image. It's an optical illusion. If you move your eyes, it appears to move. Fix your gaze on a single point and you'll see that it's still (or zoom in closely.)

Apart from loading in jerks, it appears rock steady to me.
What do you see it doing?

Maybe your eyes aren't as good as they used to be. The green things should appear to move if you look at the entire image scanning from point to point. If you stare at a single point nothing will move.
