Does anybody know why I'm getting extra space above the word "middle" in IE6 but not Firefox at http://www.sharpedgestudio.com/extra/divboxesround01.html ? I'd like it to display the way it does in firefox.

Thanks

}

O.K. I just tried that but the extra space is there still. Thanks anyway.

Try this:

<!--[if lt IE 7]>
<style type="text/css">
.toptest {
overflow: hidden;
}
</style>
<![endif]-->

This will only apply the style to IE6.

ahhh, good call, does that also need to be in a seperate style, like

<!--[if lt IE 7]>

<style type="text/css">
.toptest {
overflow: hidden;
}
</style>
<![endif]-->

i dont mean to confuse any one, i was just wondering?

Yup, you're right. I meant to throw that in there. The IE conditional tags are considered like normal comment tags and need to be outside of the style and script tags.

Thanks so much guys! Overflow:hidden was what I needed. I'm not sure if I need to do it specifically for IE6 and less, but it is great to know how. I don't have IE7 installed so I'm going to do a browser screenshot test for IE7. I'm just curious, but is there something I'm doing wrong in the first place that is making it overflow, or is it just something weird about IE?

Thanks again!

It's not you. I haven't been able to figure out what is causing it. I've only seen it in IE6 so far. Even using a strict doctype gives me the issue.
