Not long after installing nortons new anti virus software i seem to be having pc issues.

my pc always seem to be running the file LUCOMS~1.EXE and also there is another file run that many times at once. it seems to be getting updates. lu.......exe

i have looked but can not seem to find an option to turn off updates or limit it to once a week. it seems to run every so many minutes. not every 5 or 10 minutes but random.

can someone advise what this may be and how i stop this from frezzing up my pc all the time.

thanks

also LUCALLBACKPROXY.EXE is running a lot and really slows my pc to an almost stand still.

anyone got any ideas why this is running. and how to either stop it or only have it run when i want it to cos it is random.

Part of Norton Antivirus or Security Suite, Norton is a resource hog, nothing much to do about that apart from uninstall it (you should ALWAYS have an AniVirus though)

ok i sort of knew that it was norton...

but can i limit when it does the update check? i bet it does a check and 70% of the time nothing is changed as norton is ok from the last time is got an update not more the 30 minutes ago or sometime 5 minutes it is completely random when it is done.

i have tried to see if they is an option to stop it or something but no idea where to look it all changed since n2007 !!
