I have just formatted my computer and installed Windows XP on it.
Now when i try to access my hotmail it gives me this error message:
"JavaScript required. The browser that you are using does not support JavaScript or you may have disabled JavaScript."

I downloaded and installed Microsoft Java Virtual Machine but it didn't help.
Problems also happen when i try to play games on yahoo.com or pogo.com. When I click on the room name it just won't open.

Any suggestions on what to do would be very appreciated.

Even though you have installed JVM... Did you tell Windows XP and IE to use it???

In IE: Select Tools --> Internet Options --> Advanced & go down to Microsoft VM (fourth section down) and make sure you have;

JIT compiler for virtual machine enabled (requires restart)

;checked...

Ummm Javascript doesn't require a Java Virtual Machine. Java Applets would.

Whichever browser you are using make sure you have Javascript enabled. There are settings in most browsers to disable it but normally it is enabled by default.

I'm not sure if you can disable Javascript at all in IE6

Disable Active Scripting should do the trick.

I have tried everything I thought of but nothing had helped.

When I installed JVM, the box for JIT compiler for Virtual Machine enabled (requires restart) was checked by default, so the problem shouldn't be there.

I also tried disabling Active Scripting as well as Java Applets but nothing helped.

I tried to access my hotmail with different settings (checking and unchecking different boxes) many times but nothing seems to work for me.

If anyone knows any other possible solutions please help.
Thank you very much.

Ow srry, didn't saw the previous messages

Anyway, I found this, I am not sure it will work.

1. Select the "Internet Options" option from the "Tools" menu at the top of your browser.
2. Click on the "Security" tab on the "Internet Options" box.
3. Select the "Internet" zone from the list of zones displayed.
4. Click on the "Custom level..." button beneath the zones.
5. In the new window which will appear, find the item which reads "Active Scripting" and select the "Enable" checkbox.
6. Click the "OK" button at the bottom of the "Internet Options" box.
