This question is somewhat related to this forum. Otherwise, please let me know a good iframe forum:

I saw a web design like this:

With the same document there are three sections:

1) main body z-index =0

2) iframe z-index = 100 opacity=50%

3) div popup z-index = 500

It behaves like this:

You got the div like a popup (on top), the iframe 50% opacity to allow looking through to see the main body text.

In this case, is the iframe necessary? And is the iframe employed reasonably for this case?

Thanks

Scott

Is the DIV on top supposed to protect the IFRAME ?

What are you trying to accomplish ?

No. Not all all.

On a jsp page, there is field, next to it is a search button. When it is pressed, the div stands out (feeling like a popup), but it is not. It is just raised by z-index. It has several search fields on it.

No the screen looks like this:

DIV (so called popup) on top

iframe bahaves like a screen with 50% opacity to allow the user still look through to see the content of the main body

the bottom (z-index=0) is the main body content.

--I mean for this purpose, is the iframe necessary?

Thanks

Scott
