My Home PC is infected with HTML.Redlof.A virus, dont know where it came from, I m currently using Norton 2002. this software can't repair the files infected with this virus. i had also checked there official site (symantec.org) for removal tool. but unfortunatly there wasn't any support for this virus. HTML.Redlof.A has infected all my .html, .htm, .asp, .htt files.
One thing more, I would like to share with ya, if a computer is infected with this virus, when a users explore in diffrent directories it copy "folder.htt" on that particular directory.

Please let me know how can I recover my files. :( and whats the functionality of "folder.htt" files in windows.

any help would be appreciated.

Saeed Qadir.

I quickly checked out Symantec's website and found this link:

http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/html.redlof.a.html

which contains information about the virus itself and instructions on how to remove it.

Does involve some registry 'fixing' so I would follow the instructions to the letter.

Also found this for you:

http://www.trendmicro.com/vinfo/virusencyclo/default5.asp?VName=VBS_REDLOF.A

has what appears to be Automatic Removal feature.

I received a warning for that virus detected on this site:
