Graphic is a "little shakey"

Hey folks,
Worked on a little flash animation for client's homepage.

Got an email from the client stating this:
"We’ve recently noticed that the flash file on our homepage is a little shaky when zooming into the rail and manufacturing images (i.e., the first and third images). Would it be possible to steady those out a bit?"

The images are moving via a motion tween.
Any ideas how that can be smoothed out without affecting the speed or timing etc

Oh man - I have no technical expertise to add to this post, but my God man - that is really a ridiculous complaint. If there is anything that can be done I hope you figure it out, but for all the flash I have seen that "shakyness" is pretty much the norm.

only thing i can say is , you definatly moved them straigth when u moved them in one continuous line .. bah dunno

I think the shakiness was a result of the large size images.
Try raising the frame rate of the flash movie. That would smoothen them a bit.

Try raising the frame rate to around 25 frames per second. That should do it.

Try using the forceSmoothing metod on whatever movie lip contains that image. Sometimes, the animation needs to move at the subpixel level, which you cannot do on a bitmap without smoothing it. Should look womthing like:

myImage_mc.forceSmoothing = true;


If you have it set to cacheAsBitmap, it will kill the smoothing. I hope that helps.

Agreed, framerate will make it better. Its really the only thing.
