Does <input tag have a description attribute? (I do not see it).

But I did see some codes like this:

<input type="text" name="test" class="maskable"
description="Day"
value="<%=testBean.getSessionStartDateDay()%>"
maxlength="3">

Thanks

Further question:

Is that true the standard HTML tag allows a customerized attribute?

For instance:

In the case I provided, <input id="test" description="abc"...

Actually, I saw the codes in working.

var desc = document.getElementById("test").getAttribute('description');
...
...

And it is working in a live application. But I just want to confirm if a standard HTML tag allows a customerized attribute in it?

Thanks

Scott

Its not valid coding but you can do it. If you aren't worried about validation then go for it. From the sounds of things you likely don't even know what validation means.

If you want to start bad habits and go against the grain of the internet and all its standards then you can pretty much do whatever you want with today's browsers.
