Loading graphics help

How would I make certain graphics load before others? On the site that I am remaking, I have a 3 column table where the outer two columns repeat a different background than the middle one. They always load last and it looks terrible until they do load.
Take a look please and see if I can get them to load first. TIA!

I only have two columns on the new index page but the one column still loads last.

Sorry, i didn't see the problem. When using background images, it's always a good idea to set a background color as well, choosing a color that closely matches the overall impression the bg image makes when you look at it with squinted eyes; that way it won't be that annoying if it takes a while to load it.
