Are there any other free alternatives that do something similar to PHPRunner? I have all my information in a flat file right now but would like to migrate it to a database. I have links and dates they expire. I want to display a table of the most current links and remove the links as they expire. I would also like my visitors to be able to select links from the table to print out.

I would try to do the database myself but I have never found a good tutorial on how to set it up. This software makes it really easy to setup your database and output tables onto your website.

PHPRunner looks like some fun, I will give it a bash and see what (if anything) I could recommend :) Have you got an existing site up using PHPRunner or anything yet? Or you just have this list of links and dates to display and expire? Any idea for webpage layout or anything? Code snippets and such? :)

Thanks outseeker!

Right now I only have a list of links and dates to display and expire. I was thinking of displaying the information in a table with the following headers: link, description, expiration date.

OK well, if you can give us a snippet of the text file with the links, desc, exp. date, so we can see the format, I'm sure one of the mysql legends on here can give u a line of code that will parse the text file and create the 3 columns and fill them. If it's all formatted in a uniform fashion, that should be no dramas at all.

Then u would need a bit of code to pop into a web page, that grabs the database info and echos a lil table to the user. That code would also do the expiry I'd say. Not much of a challenge for some of the people on here mate, post up the formatting of that file and I rekon you will have it sorted in no time. Heck, I will take a crack at it too :)

Actually, how many links are u talkin? And will u regularly need to import a .txt file to the database? Or would u just be regularly adding a couple by hand? If it's the latter, u can gimme the full list and I can easily create an SQL file for ya to import into your database that would have all the right fields details in it. If it's gonna want to be regularly updated with like 100 links or something perhaps automated code would be better tho ;)

How about scriptcase? for my purposes scriptcase is better, I have both frameworks, sometimes I still use the runner but 90% of the time I use the Scriptcase

The advantage is that scriptcase runs in the browser allowing you to install it in a server and access it anywhere, it will also allow more then one developer at the same time.

Try it and come give us a feedback!

Try scriptcase, take a look ate the website, watch some videos then go for trial, into the courses sections there are a few courses to teach you how to use.
