Hello,
Here’s an odd problem: I have a Gigabyte GA-8IDML motherboard (from a 8250 system) that I transferred to a larger tower (featuring a Turbolink Switching Power Supply Model # LC-A420ATX) about two years ago. I’m trying to now install an Antec power supply Model # NEO HE550 but the system will not power up. Instead, the Capslock light, the optical mouse light and a small surface-mount LED on the motherboard labeled DIMM_LED2 (located near the “top” edge by the DIMM2 memory slot and the ATX main power socket) all flash in unison. Also, when I try using the original power supply from the 8250 case the same thing happens (blinking lights but unable to power up), but when I put the Turbolink back in all of the problems clear up immediately.
Here’s where it gets really hairy, I have already installed a twin Antec power supply into my 8420 system with no problems. I have also swapped out the Antec power supplies (after returning one thinking it was faulty) with no problems to that system. This leads me to believe that something is wrong with the Gigabyte GA-8IDML motherboard (from the 8250), but I’m at a loss as how to proceed.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.
Cheers,
-Dave
