As of now, basically what is needed is some sort of content management system or portal where you are able to edit most of the website if not everything. Things like editing/adding news. events, profiles of djs. etc. PHP/MYSQL integrated, with a built in message board.
The whole website is music related.
Looking for a complete website from grounds up.
What are prices for a project of this sort of?

not less then $100... I would say it would start at $500 and up for anything decent.
If you need something cheap (less then 100.00) your best bet would be to buy a premium wordpress template, or you may be able to even find some pretty good free ones. Adii has some very nice news themes for sale: http://www.premiumnewstheme.com/

yeah. Websites having a cms or an admin section would not be less than $100. It would be $500 and sometimes can reach up to to $1000 depends on the complexity of the website.

They can go *much* higher than that ;)
I just worked on a Joomla site and billed over $3k just for the modifications they wanted. It would have nearly been cheaper to build it from scratch.

I agree, I've seen custom CMS, CRM, E-comm solutions break $20k without a problem. Keep in mind that there are a lot of companies out there that pay 100,000 to millions to develop systems. Obviously not one guy programs them, they have a whole team of developers, PM, etc. My point is, when you're talking about a "custom" solution, features, quality and reliability are directly proportional to amount paid.

I would have to agree with everyone else here that if you are wanting something custom it is going to cost you.. But I might have a solution for you... I have been working on a CMS for alittle over 3 years. It started out as a college project then turned full blown on campus. It has never went any father than that. But anyways I have been working on it for awhile and i would not mind throwing it out there for you too use. Beta of course.
