What are the steps after email activation link is sent

Hi all,
in my application, i allow the client to enter his email address and his ID [unique provided by the application] and request for his registration so that he can see all his transactions made till date. after his request is made, an email is sent to admin which will authorize his request. after authorization an email activation link is sent to the client. This all is working perfectly fine. Now i dont know step by step how to go furter ??? what if the user doen't follow the link??? how to activate his request?? can any one guide me or provide me some help links on this??? what are minute checkings that have to be done after the email activation link is send....:confused:

hi,
i am looking forward to register the user if only he has come through the link. That i can surely find by checking the $QUERY_STRING. But in case i missout somthing as i am doing this activity for the first time, i am looking out for a tutorial or a link or some points which will help me not to keep any loopholes in the enitre things.
Hope i really get a good help on it.
